Matching Gift and Volunteer Incentive Programs

Many organizations having matching gift or volunteer incentive programs for their employees. For instance, the volunteer incentive program at Verizon recognizes employees' contributions of time and talent to nonprofit organzations. Employees are eligible to apply for a grant on behalf of the qualified organization where they volunteered 50 hours or more during the year.

We enourage you to check with your employer today to see if your contributions to Assumption are eligible for a matching gift or if there is a volunteer incentive program. (Microsoft and other corporations will match your building fund donations as well as your donations to the Annual Catholic Appeal).

Material Donations

Year round, Assumption collects items such as non-perishable food, clothing, books and small household items, toiletries, etc. for St. Vincent de Paul. In addition we collect clothing up to children's size 16 and baby items including diapers and formula for the baby corner. We welcome these material donations and thank you for your generosity.
Drop your items off weekdays to the bench outside the parish offices or bring to the narthex when you come to mass. Receipts are available on the bulletin board outside the parish office.  For large items please call the St. Vincent de Paul office and they will dispatch a truck directly to your house.  206-767-3835.

Please note that IRS regulations prevent qualified organizations who receive non-monetary donations from making a monetary valuation of the items. We are legally prevented from stating a value on the documents.

Volunteer

God has blessed each of us with talents to make a unique contribution to the Church and His kindgdom. Each of us has the privilege of getting involved and participating, rather than sit on the sidelines. Consider serving at Assumption Parish, in our local community or globally.  Please consider the many ministries where you and your family can serve.

Everything we have is truly a gift from God.

As a community of faith, we can do infinitely more together than we can do individually.

Together, we as the parish community of Assumption Church, can reach out in ministry in the name of Christ.

Each of us should commit ourselves to be good stewards of the gifts God has given us:

• by participating regularly and actively in the Sunday Eucharist;

• by sharing our time and talent with our community;
and

• by making a prayerful commitment to support financially our Assumption Church.
